Conditions of Entry 

  1. All entrants must be the current National Singles Champion as at 31st March 2011 and must be an affiliated member of the entering National Authority.
  2. If the current National Champion is not available then the country will not have an entry.
  3. Confirmation of the name of the entrant must be received by World Bowls, from the National Authority, by 15th April 2011 along with player profile. Those nations who already know their eligible national singles champions are requested to submit their entries at the earliest.
  4. The start date for play in the event is scheduled for 6 November 2011 and dependent on size of entry the event is scheduled to run for 7/8 days. Official arrival date for players is set as 4 November 2011. Any competitor wishing to arrive before the Official arrival date or depart after the Official departure date will be responsible for making such accommodation and travel arrangements relating thereto, and which are outside the Official accommodation and internal transfer arrangements.
  5. One Official practice day will be scheduled on 5 November 2011.
  6. The competition will be played using the sets play format in accordance with the World Bowls Laws of the Sport of Bowls Crystal Mark Second Edition and will be played in two sections, randomly drawn with 2/3 rounds per day (dependent of number of entries) or unless inclement weather conditions prevail.
  7. Play will be conducted in accordance with the ‘Conditions of Play’ for the event.
  8. All bowls must bear a current legible WBB or WB stamp i.e. dated 2011 or later.
  9. The Jury of Appeal (appointed by World Bowls) shall decide all disputes.
  10. Any points not covered in the Conditions of Play will be ruled upon by the Jury of Appeal.
  11. Players depart the day following the completion of the event if they do not choose to stay on to compete in HKLBA Golden Jubilee Mixed Pairs (see below).
  12. World Bowls will be responsible for players’ accommodation, including breakfast from the official day of arrival until the morning of the official departure day after completion of the event. Lunch will be provided at the venue by the host club. Players will be responsible for providing their own evening meal. Partners/relatives/friends/manager/official etc sharing a room with a player will be responsible for settling their equal share of the accommodation costs. Settlement details to be advised nearer the time. It must be emphasised that National Authorities electing to send Managers or other officials to attend this event are liable for all costs relating thereto.
  13. The entering National Authorities or the entrant shall be responsible for the cost of return flights or other form of transport to Hong Kong, China.
  14. Players will be required to attend official receptions/functions as directed by World Bowls.
  15. Players are expected to be available for interview by the media as and when required.
  16. Dress as approved by the competitor’s National Authority. Players will be required to bring with them to the event, their National Flag and a copy on CD of their National Anthem.
  17. National Authorities must ensure that all competitors are aware that drug testing is liable to take place during this event and they must ensure that all competitors are fully aware of and compliant with all requirements of the World Bowls World Anti Doping Agency compliant Anti Doping Regulations.
  18. World Bowls shall be entitled to amend these Conditions as considered necessary.
  19. Please note that any withdrawals later than 21 days prior to commencement of the event will be subject to a £100 late withdrawal fine, invoiced to the National Authority.

 ADDITIONAL CONDITION OF ENTRY

 WORLD BOWLS, THE HOST CLUB & SPONSORS EXPECT ALL COMPETITORS TO REMAIN AT THE EVENT UNTIL THE OFFICIAL DEPARTURE DATE SO PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY COMPETITOR LEAVING THE EVENT PRIOR TO THIS DATE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY ACCOMMODATION NOT USED AS A RESULT OF ANY EARLY DEPARTURE. WORLD BOWLS WILL INVOICE THE NATIONAL AUTHORITY.

 HONG KONG LBA-GOLDEN JUBILEE MIXED PAIRS

HKLBA HAVE INVITED ALL COMPETITORS IN THE WORLD CHAMPION OF CHAMPION SINGLES 2011 TO STAY ON AFTER THE EVENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A SPECIAL MIXED PAIRS EVENT TO CELEBRATE THEIR GOLDEN JUBILEE. ALL EXTRA ACCOMMODATION COSTS OF PARTICIPANTS IN THIS GOLDEN JUBILEE MIXED PAIRS EVENT WILL BE COVERED BY HKLBA. WE HOPE AS MANY AS POSSIBLE WILL SUPPORT THIS EVENT AND THE GENEROUS OFFER OF HKLBA. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THIS EVENT WILL BE SCHEDULED TO FINISH ON 20 NOVEMBER 2011. THERE WILL BE A PRIZE FUND FOR THIS EVENT, DETAILS OF WHICH WILL BE SENT TO ALL ENTRANTS IN THE EVENT IN DUE COURSE BY HKLBA.
